Day 4 - Saturday - February 21st, 2015 - (B/D)

  • Enjoy a comprehensive visit to Tel Megiddo in the valley of Armageddon
  • Drive up to the Carmel for lunch and to learn about the Druze people in Daliyat el Carmel
  • Visit the catacombs of the rabbis at Beth Shearim

Day 5 - Sunday - February 22nd, 2015 - (B/D)

  • Explore recent findings in the city of Tiberias (including the 1st century theatre) and the Talmudic synagogue at Hamat Tiberias.
  • Visit the Church of the Wedding in Cana of Galilee
  • See the Roman-period highlights at Sepphoris
  • Visit the newly discovered first century ruins of Nazareth, the Church of the Annunciation and the Synagogue Church
  • Enjoy some time in the relaxing hot springs at Hamat Gader.

Day 6 - Monday - February 23rd, 2015 - (B/D)

  • Visit the 1st century ‘Galilee boat at Ginosar’s Yigal Allon Museum.
  • Set sail on the Sea of Galilee from Ginosar to Capernaum and hear the music of Dani Carmel, a local Messianic.
  • Delve into the archaeological remains at Capernaum, mentioned more times in the New Testament than any other city.
  • Enjoy a “Saint Peter’s Fish” lunch on the edge of the Galilee (optional)
  • Enjoy a spectacular lookout over the ancient city of Gamla and see the Griffin Vultures soar
  • Lookout from Mt. Bental Volcano into Syria and the Road to Damascus.
  • End the day with a visit a Golan Heights Winery in the town of Katzrin
  • Overnight & Dinner: Kibbutz Maagan Holiday Village, (Sea of Galilee)

Day 7 - Tuesday - February 24th, 2015 - (B/D)

  • Early departure
  • Drive down the Jordan Valley
  • See the ancient remains of Beit Shean. In biblical times, King David battled and defeated the Philistines, after he heard the news of the death of King Saul and his son. Visit the bathhouse and the Cardo.
  • Drive down to see the site of “Aenon near Salim” (John 3:23) where a Bronze Bust of Hadrian was also found.
  • Enjoy lunch in the religious Kibbutz Tirat-Zvi (Danny’s childhood kibbutz)
  • Visit Qasr el Yahud at the Jordan River, the more likely place of John’s baptisms
  • Overnight & Dinner: Kibbutz Ein Gedi (Dead Sea)

Day 8 - Wednesday - February 25th, 2015 - (B/D)

  • Experience Masada, Herod the Great’s desert fortress. Danny also participated in this excavation. Cable car up and down.
  • Visit the Masada Museum
  • Enjoy a relaxing and swim at Ein Gedi Spa
  • Optional tour of Ein Gedi Botanical Gardens
  • Lodging & Dinner: Kibbutz Ein Gedi (Dead Sea)

Day 9 - Thursday - February 26th, 2015 - (B/D)

  • Visit the Ein Gedi synagogue (where Danny has excavated)
  • Experience Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered
  • Drive ‘up’ to Jerusalem
  • Visit the Good Samaritan Inn where we’ll see a fabulous array of mosaics that have been discovered in the West Bank
  • Lookout from the Mount of Olives
  • Walk the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, noting key archaeological details.
  • Overnight & Dinner: Mt Zion Hotel  (Jerusalem)

Day 10 - Friday - February 27th, 2015 - (B/D)

  • Visit the newest excavations in the City of David and wade through Hezekiah’s tunnel.
  • Experience the Southern Wall Excavations (Davidson Center) and walk up the 1st century steps of the Temple. See a 3D Model.
  • Visit the Western “Wailing” Wall
  • Have lunch in the Jewish Quarter
  • See Hezekiah's Broad Wall & The Cardo
  • Go underground to visit the 1st century Burnt House
  • Visit King David’s Tomb and the ‘Upper Room’ on Mount Zion.
  • Overnight & Sabbath Dinner: Mt Zion Hotel  (Jerusalem)

Day 11 - Saturday - February 28th, 2015 - (B/D)

  • Begin the day at the Israel Museum to see the 2nd Temple Model & the Shrine of the Book, where some of the Dead Sea Scrolls are housed, and the Archaeology Wing.
  • Climb up the artificial hill of Herodium to see Herod’s fortress, tomb and tunnels from the Great Revolts. Note: Danny participated in uncovering the ‘Royal Tomb’.
  • Enjoy an optional Tour of Bethlehem (Church of the Nativity & Kando’s Shop)
  • Overnight & Sabbath Dinner: Mt Zion Hotel  (Jerusalem)

Day 12 - Sunday - March 1st, 2015 - (B/D)

  • Enjoy a morning of leisure on your own shopping in the Old City or visiting alternative sites like the Garden Tomb or Yad vaShem Holocaust Memorial. Bus drop offs will be provided.
  • Visit the Elah Valley (where David fought Goliath)
  • Hike up to the recently-excavated ruins of Khirbet Qeiyafah
  • Enjoy a farewell Middle Eastern style dinner together.
  • Transfer to Airport
  • Night Departure

Day 13 - Sunday - March 2nd, 2014 - (B/)

  • Group Arrival to JFK

Refund & Other Policies (Samson Tours)

  • Final Itinerary & Hotels: The itinerary may be updated from time to time at the discretion of Samson Tours, its guide and its tour leader. Final Hotel Arrangements will be posted no later than 4 months before departure. In the event of a hotel switch, Samson Tours will guarantee a replacement at the same quality or provide an upgrade to a higher class of accommodations.
  • Group Minimum: A minimum of 20 paying participants are required for this tour. If the group minimum is not requested by 4 months before departure, Samson Tours or its tour leader will have the right to postpone the dates until a minimum number of participants are achieved.
  • Group Maximum: A maximum of 45 paying participants will be allowed to join this unique tour program.
  • Your Health:All participants should be in good health and walking condition. This program is active and involves a lot of walking over uneven surfaces and climbing stairs. All locations may not be accessible for the disabled. Any condition that may require special accommodation must be reported at the time of your reservation.
  • Group Airfare: Samson Tours works alongside the tour leader to find the best airfare and best price for the group. In order to request a group airfare price, there must be at least 10 passengers on the group flight. The airfare will be paid to the airline in full upon their request and subject to their cancellation/refund policies.
  • Deposit & Payments for Land & Air: To ensure your spot on the tour, we request a $500.00 deposit be paid upon signup. The deposit and any payments made are refundable up to 90 days before departure (less a $100.00 cancellation fee per person). After that, the deposit is non-refundable, but can be used as a future credit with Samson Tours. The deposit can be paid by cash, check, money order, bank transfer, debit or credit card.
  • Final Payments: The final payment will be made 90 days before departure. Payments made by check or cash will be made in US$ to Samson Tours, Inc. Payments made by debit or credit card to Samson Tours, Inc. will be charged the full balance. If there are any unpaid fuel surcharges for the group flight, they will be billed to you at cost per the group airline contract either before or after the tour.
  • Diversions: If you arrive either before or after the recommended group departure/arrival time, or if your flight is delayed beyond a reasonable waiting period, or if you elect to divert or add-on additional days to the trip, then it is understood that you will arrive at the hotel or to the airport at your own expense.
  • Flight Diversions: If you elect to be on the group flight and wish to depart from a different city of origin, you can a.) Book your own domestic airfare connection or b.) Select the Add-On in your My Account for a $50.00 Domestic Flight Booking Fee. Any costs or savings for the additional flight will be added or deducted from your tour balance. Please contact us with your specific departure city request.
  • Refunds (Land): The following refunds for the land portion of the price will apply for non-insured travelers only: Full refund (less cancellation fee of $100.00 per person) if cancelled 90+ calendar days before departure. 75% refund if cancelled 89-60 days before departure. 50% refund if cancelled 59-30 days before departure. 0% refund if cancelled 29 or less days before departure.
  • Refunds (Group Air): Per group contract with airline. Typically $100 non-refundable up to 3 months before departure and non-refundable 30 or less days before departure. Most airlines will, however, allow you to postpone your travel dates for a re-ticketing or name transfer fee.
  • Force Majeure: If Samson Tours decides to postpone the tour do to political unrest, then your balance will carry over to the new tour dates. Depending on the new dates, there may be an increase in costs, for tours that are rescheduled within 1 year. If you are unable to join the new tour dates, then you will be entitled to a full refund, less the cancellation fee. The deposit and/or balances amount can also be applied to any future tour without incurring a cancellation fee.
  • Travel Insurance – Samson Tours does not require travel insurance. It is, however, strongly advised that all travelers equip themselves with a comprehensive travel insurance plan through a private carrier, like Travel Guard or through your credit card company. See the Group Leader for more details.
  • Single Supplement: For single travelers, a single supplement fee for the hotels is required. This usually amounts to around 85% of the Double Room cost. If a person has ordered a double room and his or her roommate cancels his or her tour, then the individual holding a double room must find a new roommate or pay the single supplement.
  • Exchange Rate: The current exchange rate is 3.5 shekels to the dollar. Samson Tours, Inc. reserves the right to charge a supplement to the price if the dollar falls below the 3.5 threshold. Note: Samson Tours will only do this if the hotels and other agents require it to do so. As of February 2014, we have never yet had to charge an exchange rate surcharge.
  • Government Imposed VAT or taxes: Currently there are no VAT taxes on tour packages to Israel. Should such a tax be imposed before the start of the tour, even after ‘final payment’ has been made, Samson Tours will notify all of its participants in writing. In order to participate in the tour, you will be required to pay all such taxes before the start of the tour.
  • Responsibility - Samson Tours, Inc. and or its agents and representatives shall be, in no way, liable or responsible for any personal or property loss, damage or injury howsoever caused.
  • Update – These policies may be updated from time to time. Upon update, you will be notified by Samson Tours, Inc. or its group leader.
