Elah Valley

During the tribal allotments. the Elah Valley was under the control of the tribe of Dan but it would later be consumed by the Philistines.The Elah Valley is where David fought Goliath in 1 Samuel 17. The Valley. The word ’Elah’ means terebinth tree. The ravine or brook from which David gathered his smooth stones is located on the northern end of the valley and only flows with water during the winter months. Visitors can still collect stones in the brook today.
