The Church of St. Joseph in Nazareth
The Church of St. Joseph Basilica (also known as: the Church of the Holy Family or Joseph’s Workshop) is located in the southern courtyard of the Latin Church of the Annunciation. The church protects an early mikveh, cistern and other installations that are believed to be the private home or workshop of Joseph. It is believed that early Christians marked this as a place of worship, as evidenced by the Jewish ritual bath. The current church was designed by Brother Wendelin Hinterkeuser in 1911 who built in similar fashion and on the remains of the earlier Crusader structure.
